Invermay is 15 miles north of Perth on the A93 Royal Deeside Road. If you come from Perth you will then pass the magnificent gates to Scone Palace and Invermay is 14 miles further north. Look out for the bright red gates and railings at Invermay! Balmoral Castle is on the same road just over an hour north from Blairgowrie. Up to the earlier part of the 20th century, the Royal Family regularly passed along the road from Perth train station on their way to Balmoral. Foreign visiting Royalty took the same route, such as Queen Salote of Tonga in 1953 after the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, when crowds thronged the streets and Wellmeadow in Blairgowrie to cheer the visitor from the South Pacific on her way to Balmoral. Just think, royalty has passed the door of Invermay, many times in the past! Edward VII was also a frequent visitor in the past. To see Queen Victoria's splendid Royal train, drive north from Invermay on the A93 to Ballater to the station, which is also the VisitScotland Office. There, you can enter her royal carriage.

The original features from the 1880s have been cleverly blended with a modern twist, including wi-fi, to provide all the comforts of a modern family home blended with vintage character. The sleeping accommodation comprises downstairs one double/family room with large double bed and single sofa bed suitable even for an adult. There is a downstairs bathroom with separate large shower and wall-mounted seat. Upstairs there are two family rooms. The blue room has two single beds which can be pushed together to make a double as well as a double sofa bed which is suitable for two small children or one adult. The grey/charcoal room has three single beds and again, two can be pushed together to make a double. However, if the house is at full occupany, the maximum number of persons who can stay will be 6 adults and four children and that is recommended to be for a maximum of 3 nights (see below for extra costs for extra persons over six). Normally stays are for one week's duration from Friday at 4 pm to the following Friday at 10 am. (times can be altered by prior arrangement) For a whole week, it would be best to restrict occupancy to two persons per room, so a maximum of 6 can stay in comfort for a week. There is a separate bathroom on the rear landing of the house.
Accommodation in a nutshell: 3 family bedrooms and 3 bath/shower rooms.

There is also excellent golf available at Dunkeld and Birnam Golf Club. Contact the club on 01350-727524 for further details on the 18 hole course or by email on Secretaryfirstname.lastname@example.org .The original course was founded in 1892 and was designed by Old Tom Morris. The new course was opened after the first world war in 1922 by the Duchess of Atholl after the original course had been taken over for war time trench digging practice and then by order of the Government was deemed only to be used for agricultural use. The current course is now very much improved and definitely one of the most picturesque in Perthshire.
There is more golf available at the 18 and 9 hole courses at Strathmore Golf Centre, on the way to Alyth. There is also a golf driving range and restaurant available for all visitors. Contact the club on 01828-634004 or by email on email@example.com .

There is extensive parking on-site at Invermay for several cars. The lower level of the garage and the conservatory can be used for storage of all sporting equipment and for hanging wet clothing on the two pulleys there. Once the clothing has dried off somewhat it can be brought in the back door to the utility/dining area and hung on the heated clothes drier or hung on a clothes horse near the Aga.
